56.
Before beginning the movement, switching lanes, turning left or right, making a U-turn and stopping, the driver is obliged to give a signal by means of light direction-indicators for the respective direction, and if they are unavailable or faulty, or hazard warning lights are on, — by arm, making sure that his actions will not endanger and obstruct road traffic. In doing so:
56.1.
the left arm outstretched laterally or the right arm outstretched laterally and angled upward corresponds to the signal of the left light direction-indicator;
56.2.
the right arm outstretched laterally or the left arm outstretched laterally and angled vertically upward corresponds to the signal of the right light direction-indicator;
56.3.
braking signal is given by the left or right hand raised upright.
57.
The signal by means of light direction-indicators or by arm must be given before the manoeuvre (with the exception of reversing), so that other road-users were able to continue the movement safely, and cease immediately after finishing the manoeuvring (signal given by are may cease just before the manoeuvre.) In doing so:
57.1.
the signal gives no advantage to the driver;
57.2.
the signal must not be given, if it may mislead other road-users.
58.
After standing or parking the driver of a vehicle moving off must give way to passing vehicles, except for the instance provided by clause 125 of these Rules.
When exiting from the carriageway, the driver must give way to pedestrians, horseback riders and cyclists the traffic of which he crosses.
59.
When switching the lane, the driver must give way to vehicles traveling along the way, without changing direction of their movement.
When vehicles moving along the way switch lanes, the driver must give way to the vehicle located on his right.
60.
It is prohibited to switch lanes at an intersection, except the intersection with roundabout.
61.
Switching to the next traffic lane on a road with two or more traffic lanes in one direction, marked with horizontal road marking, when these lanes are evenly occupied by moving vehicles, is allowed only for turning left or right, U-turn, stop or passing an obstacle.
62.
If on a road with two or more traffic lanes in one direction, there is congestion due to an obstruction on one of them, the driver of each vehicle moving on the next lane must give an opportunity to switch to his lane to one of the vehicles being in the congestion.
63.
Before U-turning, turning left or right, the driver is obliged, without creating obstruction and endangering the movement of other road-users, to take a respective extreme position on the carriageway assigned for traffic in this direction, except for the cases when turning at the entry into the intersection and exit from it is performed in places with roundabout, and also in places where the direction of traffic on the carriageway (intersection) is determined by road signs and/or horizontal marking.
64.
If there is a street railway in the same direction, situated on the left on the same level with carriageway:
64.1.
turning left or U-turning must be performed from these railways, unless road signs “Directions of traffic on lanes”, “Direction of traffic on lane” establish another order of traffic;
64.2.
if exit to the tramway railways makes an obstruction for movement a tramway, the driver must stay on the occupied traffic lane without entering the tramway rails, waiting for the tramway and oncoming vehicles to pass;
64.3.
in case of creating an obstruction for movement of a tramway, the street railway must be liberated, if possible. Drivers of vehicles, moving alongside in the same direction, must give an opportunity for it.
65.
Turning left or right must be performed in such a way that the vehicle does not enter the lane reserved for oncoming traffic, when clearing the intersection of carriageways:
65.1.
when turning left, the vehicle must move as close to the center of intersection as possible, unless road signs (horizontal road marking) provide another traffic order, in this instance an oncoming vehicle turning left must be on the right;
65.2.
when turning right, the vehicle must move closer to the right edge of the carriageway, unless road signs (horizontal road marking) provide another traffic order.
66.
If a vehicle cannot, because of its size or due to other reasons, perform a U-turn, turning left or right with observance of the requirements of clauses 63, 65 and 77 of these Rules, it is allowed to perform it regardless of these requirements, unless this causes obstructions for other road-users.
67.
Before turning left or making a U-turn outside the intersection, the driver of a vehicle must give way to oncoming vehicles and a tramway moving in the same direction.
68.
If for making a U-turn outside the intersection the width of the carriageway is insufficient for making it from the outer left position, it is allowed to make the U-turn from the right edge of the carriageway or from the right, with respect to the direction of movement, verge. In doing so the driver must give way to passing and oncoming vehicles.
69.
In the cases when the paths of movement of vehicles cross each other, and the priority of passing is not specified by these Rules, the driver who is approached by a vehicle from his right is obliged to give way.
70.
If there is a braking lane, the driver who is about to turn, must promptly switch to this lane and slow down only on this lane.
71.
If there is an acceleration lane at the place of entry to the road, the driver must travel on this lane and switch to the adjacent lane, giving way to vehicles travelling on this road.
73.
Travelling of a vehicle in reverse is allowed provided that these actions cause no obstructions for other road-users and road traffic safety will be ensured. If necessary, the driver must resort to assistance of other persons, who would have signalled about the situation occurring behind the vehicle.
74.
Travelling in reverse is prohibited at intersections (except the intersections situated in residential areas) and in places where it is prohibited to make a U-turn according to clause 72 of these Rules.
