Signs 1.1, 1.2, 1.5–1.30, 1.32–1.35 are installed outside built-up areas at a distance of 150 to 300 meters, and in built-up areas — as a rule, on a distance of 50 to 100 meters before the beginning of the dangerous section of the road. When necessary (the beginning of the dangerous section of the road is concealed from the driver by a sharp bend, gradient change of longitudinal profile, building, etc.) the mentioned signs may be installed at another distance which in that case must be indicated on panel 7.1.1.

Signs 1.1, 1.2, 1.9, 1.10, 1.21, 1.23 are repeated outside built-up areas and are installed at a distance of 20 to 50 meters before the beginning of the dangerous part of the road. Sign 1.23 is also repeated in built-up areas and is installed directly at the beginning of the section of the road where road and other works are being performed. The beginning of the section shall be deemed to be the first, in the direction of the traffic, fencing or guiding installation.

Signs 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.31.1–1.31.5 are installed within the limits of the dangerous section of the road or directly before it.

Signs 1.4.1–1.4.3 are installed on the right side, аnd signs 1.4.4–1.4.6 — on the left side of the road.
