Chapter 12. Overtaking, passing of oncoming traffic

Before beginning the overtaking, the driver must make sure that a traffic lane that he is going to enter is free and by his actions he will not endanger the road traffic safety or compel other road-users to change their direction and/or slow down their speed.
93.1.
if the driver of a vehicle moving ahead of him on the same lane made a signal for turning left;
93.2.
if the drivers following him have begun to overtake him.
94.
Passing of the vehicle the driver of which has made a signal for turning left and has begun to make the manoeuvre shall be performed on its right side.
95.
The driver of the vehicle being overtaken is obliged, having regard to road traffic conditions, to drive closer to the right edge of the carriageway and not to impede the overtaking by accelerating or other actions.
96.1.
within the validity zone of the road signs “Overtaking prohibited”, Overtaking by trucks prohibited”, on bends in the road marked with road signs “Dangerous bend”, “Dangerous bends”, on ascents marked with the road sign “Steep ascent”, and also if there is a road marking 1.1 at the end of ascents and on other sections of roads with limited visibility;

on bridges, overpasses, flyovers and thereunder;

on level-crossings and less than 100 meters before them.

Outside built-up areas the driver of a low-speed, heavy, and/or bulky vehicle, as well as of a vehicle the design of which, the cargo or the technical condition impede its overtaking must take a position on the road as close to the right as possible, and if necessary, stop to let the accumulated vehicles following him pass.
98.
If passing of oncoming traffic is impeded, the driver on whose side there is an obstruction for the traffic must give way.
99.
On descents marked with road signs “Steep descent”, “Steep ascent”, if there is an obstruction for the traffic, the driver of a descending vehicle must give.
